"It is hearting to know that there are software
developers such as yourself who are as responsive to
suggestions as you are. This is one reason why I prefer
to use programs developed by smaller companies rather
than the 'big guys' like Intuit. I have a copy of
Quickbooks that I don't use, mostly because Quickbooks is
so 'Americanized' and user unfriendly for non-American
businesses like mine who need to operate with different
currencies, languages and tax systems. The versatility of
Account Pro puts it several steps above any other
accounting software I have found. In particular, the
language capabilities of your software are brilliant
....the perfect solution for a business such as ours
who's employees use several languages."

"I upgraded to a faster machine about six years ago with
my first experience of Windows and looked for a suitable
accounts package for my personal use. I did, at that
time, download a trial copy of Account Pro. Shortly
afterwards, though, I received a free copy of Quicken on
a magazine cover. In retrospect, I think that was
unfortunate.
Quicken tries to make life easy for the non-expert. Unfortunately, though they do succeed, it leads to some fairly major complications as you start looking for its more advanced features. The main criticism is that it is not a full double entry system. They have accounts which, as far as I can see, represent all the Balance Sheet accounts. Transactions between these, naturally, use double entry. However, Income and Expenditure transactions are recorded as a single entry in an account which is then marked with a category. (Interesting if you want to make a transfer between two categories - you have to make two equal and opposite transactions in an account or a single, zero--value, split transaction in an account). Although it has many good features, since I first met it, Quicken has, like so many others, got increasingly bloated. More and more features are added - many of which I would never need. They do have simpler versions, but one or two aspects of the more expensive make it advantageous. This, however, is now becoming more difficult to argue. Furthermore, I have discovered that in the interests of copy protection, they are now including elements which, at least potentially, may be a threat to the overall security of the system and I have decided to call it a day. Before that I was reaching this point anyway for one other essential feature and, to be honest, I have only continued with it as long as I have in the hope that they would improve this. The problem is its handling of international currencies. They have provision for foreign currency accounts. However, there is no provision for foreign currency categories. These always appear in the system currency (here, the pound). They also only provide for one exchange rate per currency. This means that every time the rate changes, every single transaction made in that currency is revalued during the entire time covered by the data. Since they don't encourage proper closing of accounts every year, this means a fairly meanings significance to historic figures. I have worked out a workaround for this, but it is really time-consuming. In addition, features such as an instant balance sheet and income and expenditure report which I expect to be instantly available with a system, together with instantly available balances on every account (or category) require the generation of a report - in the case of the latter, a rather more cumbersome procedure of selection than it need be. Thank you for the return of reason :-)" John Underwood, United Kingdom |

"... I'm indeed also interested in downloading the final
Red Cross version. I'm actually training some projects
and government institutions in computerised accounting
and I find Account Pro an excellent product to get
started. I will make sure the benificiairies will
formally subscribe when they have accepted it."

"As the president of our local Rotary Club I had to act
as a stand-in for the new treasurer of our association,
who could not fix the annual balance with his home-made
spreadsheet single entry bookkeeping system. Well, I
could not fix it either, so I decided to start from
scratch from the previous and approved balance and do all
the entries from six months back myself. I was in search
of a good and easy to use program. Thanks to Google I
ended with the dutch version of your Account Pro program.
The Handleiding was useful, but it was particularly the
enclosed VOORBEEL.acc that helped me to set up a series
of accounts and to check on the logic of double entry
bookkeeping. I wish therefore to extend my compliments to
you for a very useful and well balanced program!"

"As a Dutch citizen, resident permanently in Spain, I had
to find a new accounting program when my old Dutch &
DOS program refused to do anything about the year 2000.
In search of a simple and cheap successor, I surfed the
Internet and downloaded about 30 Very Imposing Programs,
which I tested superficially if they complied with my
status as absolute layman about what is debit and what
should be credit. To make a long story short, 50% was
inmediately dumped because they did not work at all, 25%
I did not understand and 25% I did not like for any
reason whatsoever.
By chance I stumbled upon the website of the German computer magazine Chip and from there I found your Account Pro. Believe me, it is an absolute hit and you may quote me! It not only fulfills my simple needs but it contains also many extras to satisfy even professional accountants; although I really hate administration, I love working with it! For me personally it is a gem that I can set up and do my bookkeeping in Dutch - and to print out everything in Spanish for my accountant. Secondly it is great that I can make direct corrections instead of the laborious correcting contra-bookings that always end up on the wrong debet or credit side and thus need contra- repair-bookings also always showing up on the wrong side. Also, compared to so-called professional commercial programs, its registration price is very affordable. So believe me, I think you did a great job." Wam van Dam, Spain |

... By the way, I want to tell you that your program is
the best that I found. The ideas to make two entries in
one operation and the automatic VAT are excellent!

"I have succsessfully installed my copy of Account Pro,
and have used it for some time. I became a registered
user on 7 Jun 2000, with the registration number... . In
particular, I am very satisfied with the possibility of
handling different foreign exchange when I am on travel
abroad."

"Thank you for registering me to use Account Pro. I am
very pleased with the software. However, there is one
detail I would like to change. Is it possible to change
my user name from ... to ... without starting the whole
downloading sequence again?" [It was]

"I have loaded up an evaluation version of your
accounting program "Account Pro APWIN95" which I got from
ENSIGN SYSTEMS in London. I tried it and found it very
easy to set up and use."

"I am a Consulting Engineer, helping small companies to
get things in order. I downloaded 5 accounting programs
and rated them according to specific criteria,
like: 1) available in spanish (I think it is a surprisingly good translation) 2) local currency (pesos) and at least one foreign currency (US $) 3) user friendly, with few accounting jargon 4) exportable data, at least to Excel 5) to be able to manage all the information (payables, receivables, etc) in the program itself My selection to make the real test on was Account Pro. I will try test for 2 months in a company that produces and export premium wines. It has no more than 20 clients and 50 suppliers. If everything is OK I will be very happy to pay for the program and establish a relation with you." [He did] Ricardo Gonzalez I, Chile |

"Many thanks for your patience and guidance in helping me
learn Account Pro. Our Student Council and our Bank's
customers have given your program strong reviews. You
have a very powerful program that is user friendly! Your
Account Pro has made it easier for our Student Council
Bank to track the financial activities of our classes and
clubs, and you have helped me teach students about basic
accounting."

"Being a pleased user of Account Pro for Windows for
several years, current version being 7.20a, I learned
from SimtelNet on Sept. 3 of the new version of Account
Pro. I am interested in hearing, where it has been
improved from 7.20."

"I am a registred user of your AccPro for a few years,
and am very satisfied with the program. I am bying
shares, which of course means that the value is changing
rather often. I would like to be able to insert the
amount of shares and keep this as a fixed number, but be
able to change the value rather often (just like the
value of foreign currencies), can I do it in AccPro?"
[The answer was yes]

"Would you please reassure me that neither your program
mentioned, my datas nor my computer will "blow up" on
account of the change of year from 1999 to 2000.
Registered buyer and satisfied user." [Account Pro was
Y2K compatible]

"I have been a very satisfied user of "Account Pro" since
I bought a registration November 26-1998, but now I have
encountered a problem. Due to some problems with my
Windows 98 installation I have been forced to format my
harddisk and therefore I have downloaded a new version of
Account Pro..."

"Here I send you my order form. I want to pay by bank,
but I have a question first. Quite a time I use
Accuont-Pro and i am very pleased with it. I use still
version 3.21. My question is now what the price is I have
to pay..."

"I have to congratulate you. After using Account Pro for
about 6 months for our badminton club, I am very pleased
with it. It is simple, yet powerful, and you can see
everything you need at a glance. I especially like the
cost centres: it is a simple way to incorporate some
analytical bookkeeping in your normal books. I also got
compliments from the other members of the board for the
seamless transition to Account Pro and for the nice
tables and income statements they can see every meeting.
Between you and me: the switch was actually a piece of
cake, and Account Pro decreased the amount of time I
always had to spend to track errors. Working with Account
Pro is fun and the books of our club are always 100 % up
to date now."

"I am very pleased with the high quality of your account
pro program, and I try to implement it. However i have
one question. The figures of the date of an account are
only the two last of the year. Will the program then sort
correct after the year 2000?" [The answer was yes]

"The JS Group from India jointly with Vogel Verlag from
Germany has launched India's best Computer Magazine in
English called 'CHIP - The Best Guide to Computing'. CHIP
appears with a CD every month (the CD is FREE of cost to
the reader). This CD includes a lot of freeware and
shareware. We would like to include your software
"Account Pro 95 ver 6.76" in our CD for June. We feel
that it is an excellent product and the Indian market
should be introduced to it."

"... On the other hand, I find your program practically
tailor-made for my purposes, and I am now fully fluent in
using it, I have been in the handbook 3 or 4 times,
that's all. So I really have to commend the program for
being user-friendly. And the outputs are also very
friendly to a non-accountant. Seems to be easy to keep
track of budget/consumption performances, and it is going
to be interresting to see how it will work when we come
to the next years budget planning.
I am still working on our Head Office to get the program on their side too, but in any case, even if we just keep it here and send the documents by courier (like we do with our existing system) we will still be able to slim down the papervolume by kilos, due to the rational way to present the figures. So, thank you for this program." Peter Eik, Singapore |
