Either omitted, or an option number related to the number of rounding periods in the year, or a range of floats describing an annual sequence of dates in the format mm.dd.
An annual date sequence is a recurring pattern of annual dates, expressed in a way that Business Functions understands. For example, Jan 1st, July 1st, every year, is {1.01,7.01}.
