Very compact local multidimensional database contains data and reports

Contour microcube is a mobile report container that stores multidimensional database and a set of nice formed reports in a single file in compressed form. This file can be published to web sites, network directories, stored locally on a PC or sent by email as an attachment.

New technology for information delivery

Contour microcube brings a new technology to information delivery. It allows to store and deliver to a company users, customers and subscribers a huge volume of data in a very compact file. Imagine, all sales of your company for a year, for example 2'000'000 transactions, can be stored in one file of 200 KB, formed as a sales report and then published for all staff of your company who need the sales report. Microcube can be transferred to users via internet/intranet (HTTP or FTP), email, published to local network directories and owing to its compressed format generates very low traffic. User should just type URL or path to microcube, and a report based on millions of rows will be loaded in a second.

Data and reports in a single file

Contour microcubes contain a local OLAP cube and one or more predefined reports showing this cube in different angles. So, in contrast with other local cubes you don't need to develop a special user interface and reports definitions for every local cube and install this software to all of users. All microcubes can be viewed by universal software that just open a microcube like you do with an Excel book.

Universal format for reports exchange

Contour microcube is a universal format allowing any Contour tools and 3rd party applications powered by ContourCube to exchange reports.

So developers and IT-staff can create flexible solutions combining Contour tools, 3d-party and their own developed applications.

Reports for mobile users

Contour microcubes allow users to view interactive reports without database connection and with no need of an OLAP server. Mobile users can save offline report on their laptops. They can update reports by connecting to a web server or corporate network for a short time and then work offline again.

Affordable web based OLAP solutions

Microcubes are used to create affordable web based OLAP solutions. Visitors view microcubes published to a web site on pages with ContourCube ActiveX, in Contour OLAP Browser or any 3d party application powered by ContourCube. Because all calculations are performed at client side, these solutions are very scalable. Published to a web site, it will be viewed by unlimited number of users. You won't ever need to pay for an additional server for next 100 users.
