The HHP IT-4410 Image Reader is a barcode scanner or input device for omni-directional reading and decoding linear barcodes, two dimensional barcodes and OCR text, as well as capturing images for signature capture and related applications. Offering integrated support for all popular matrix, stacked linear (PDF417) and conventional linear bar codes. Lightweight, balanced, and easy to use, the IT4410 can be used in repetitive, high volume hand scanning operations in even the most demanding environments.

The HHP IT4710 Image Reader can be configured as either a hand held or fixed mount device that reads matrix, stacked linear, and conventional linear bar codes, as well as a single line of OCR-A and OCR-B fonts. Multi-line OCR applications can also be read. The IT4710 has the power to capture and download images to a PC for applications, such as signature capture, PC-based decoding, and image lift requirements. The IT4710 Reader can be used in retail, packaging, transportation, printed circuit board manufacturing, electronic component manufacturing, and clinical/diagnostic applications that include test tube and reagent package labels.

Whether your requirement is to read Data-Matrix for small item identification, MaxiCode for parcel sortation, postal codes for mail-handling, omni-directional linear bar codes or PDF417 the 4410 image reader provides good performance for a low price. 2D Barcode Verification Included
The HHP IT4410 Image Readers feature Two-dimensional Print Quality Assessment. This is not full ISO 2D verification, however, it allows users to check the quality of the 2D bar code symbols by (1) identifying a successfully read symbol and (2) reporting graded measurement parameters obtained from the symbol. This feature is available in all IT4410/4710 2D Image Readers with firmware Rev. 1.91.2.23 and higher.

QuickView Software Available
With the purchase of this scanner, special software is available which includes QuickView. Quick View is a Windows-based software program that displays decoded symbol messages and captured images from the IT4410 and IT4710 products. It may also be used to program the IT4410/4710 using RS232 serial commands.

Lab Results and Evaluation for IT4410LR and IT4410HD:

After scanning with the 4410HD and the 4410LR, we found that the 4410LR was easiest to use because it focuses on barcodes quicker and it still scans small barcodes well. The HHP IT4410LR scanner has a focal point of about 5 inches and is designed to read images 10 mils and greater. The IT4410HD scanner was able to read a few very small barcodes that the 4410LR could not, however, it was harder to focus the scanner on the barcodes.

We were very impressed with the light weight and very fast reading of the scanner, even with large Data Matrix and PDF417 symbols. The 4410 LR imager was able to dependably read PDF417 and linear barcodes printed with our ActiveX Control and DLL with an X dimension as small as .015CM and the Data Matrix ActiveX Control as small as .025CM. It also dependably scanned DataMatrix symbols printed with our Data Matrix Font at 3 points which is an X dimension of .025CM or 10 mils.

After enabling the Two-dimensional Print Quality Assessment feature, we were able to validate the quality of printed 2D barcodes including Data Matrix and Postnet symbols. Below we have included the output we received from the scanner after enabling this feature and scanning some slightly defective barcodes that still scanned properly.
