Brainstorm

The decision hierarchy (goal, objectives and criteria) are create and
managed from the hierarchy and brainstorm tab pages.
Using the toolbar objects are placed and organized on the
brainstorm graphic canvas. The objects are moved around, sized,
edited and organized primarily from the brainstorm graphic canvas.
Some editing such as changing names and levels in the hierarchy can
be accomplished from the hierarchy tab page as well.

Hierarchy Page Toolbar Items and Editing

Promote the selected criterion in the hierarchy by making it a
child of it's preceding node (preceding sibling). You can also
promote and demote by dragging a criterion and dropping it
on another criterion. Connections in the brainstorm diagram
will be updated to reflect the new hierarchy.
Demote the selected criterion in the hierarchy making it a
sibling of it's current parent. You can also promote and
demote by dragging a criterion and dropping it on another
criterion. Connections in the brainstorm diagram will be
updated to reflect the new hierarchy.

 
Brainstorm Page Toolbar Items and Editing

Most of the editing options are available on the toolbar, the Edit
menu, or by a right-click in the brainstorm window.
Selection mode for selecting objects or panning the display
by holding down the mouse in white space and moving the
mouse. To select multiple items hold down the CTRL key
while making selections. While holding the mouse down on a
selected criterion and dragging the mouse will move the
criterion (or all selected criteria) to the new location. When
an item is selected the criterion documentation can be
entered either in the text box provided or using Microsoft
Word.
Place a goal into the hierarchy by pointing to a location on
the brainstorm diagram and entering the name of the goal.
Place a criterion into the hierarchy by pointing to a location
on the brainstorm diagram and entering the name. If on the
main menu if Option->Auto Connect Mode is checked the
added criterion will automatically be added to the previously
selected criterion or goal.
Organize the criterion into like criterion and connect to
create higher level objectives.
Add a general text note to the brainstorm diagram.
Edit the name or text of the selected goal, criterion or text
object. You can also edit objects by double-clicking on the
object.
Delete the selected goal, criterion or text object.
Zoom so the extents of the brainstorm diagram fit within the
visible screen area.
Zoom in to the brainstorm diagram.
Zoom out the brainstorm diagram.
Collapse the selected object in the brainstorm diagram. The
corresponding object in the hierarchy tab page is also
collapsed.
Expand the selected object in the brainstorm diagram. The
corresponding object in the hierarchy tab page is also
expanded.
Collapse all down to the goal in the brainstorm diagram. The
goal object in the hierarchy tab page is also collapsed.
Expand all in the brainstorm diagram. All the objects in the
hierarchy tab page are also expanded.
